Mosquitoes are vectors of the major diseases public health concern in World. These include malaria, dengue fever, lymphatic filariasis, yellow chikwungunya and recently zika virus causing morbidity mortality tropical sub-tropical regions world. The success malarial vector control depends on susceptibility Anopheles mosquitoes to insecticides. One locally made insecticide (Ota Pia-Pia), synthetic insecticides Sniper while Deltamethrin were used as a go standard from WHOPES for two conduct Bioassay test against Keffi Local Government Area, Nasarawa aim is compare state knockdown effects. papers included Ota pia-pia impregnated with (0.05%, 0.5% 1.0%), sniper (0.05%) general using untreated paper 0.05% olive oil. mosquito larvae collected three locations Area returned plastic bowls insectary laboratory Department Zoology, State University, reared adults. hundred (100) female fed glucose 3 – 5 days per treatment replicated four times. post-exposure one hour 24hours was assessed. It observed that at 1%, concentrations had highest effect, 96%, 90% 88% respectively least effect 25%, 28% 29% August, September October respectively. results indicated populations locality more resistant than sniper. A regular monitoring resistance status essential help our communities.
